Zinc Nickel
Zinc Nickel Plating provides over 1000 hours of salt spray protection. Our RoHS Compliant Zinc Nickel offers ten times the protection of zinc and five times that of cadmium plating. Today in the industrial finishing industry there are higher quality standards and requirements for corrosion.
These new standards and requirements for corrosion exceed limitations of traditionally used finishes of conventional zinc and cadmium. Automated Finishing Technology offers an alternative - our Zinc Nickel Process. This process outperforms conventional zinc plating, producing a zinc-nickel alloy, it corrodes more slowly than conventional zinc. This protects the base metal for a longer period of time. Chromating produces a zinc nickel alloy chromate film that is rich in nickel, which adds to increasing the corrosion resistance of the durable zinc nickel base 5 times (versus only two times for chromating conventional zinc).
Zinc Nickel provides a better corrosion resistance, making AFT’s Zinc Nickel a perfect alternative to conventional zinc for any steel part intended for exterior use. Zinc Nickel provides the most economical corrosion protection available today.

| Advantages |
- WEEE, ROHS and EVL compliant trivalent passivation (Chrome 6 Free)
- High thermal resistance (up to 200˚C) makes it suitable for high temperature automotive applications
- Provides Superior Corrosion Resistance – protects the base metal for over 1000 hours to red rust
- Around four times the hardness and therefore wear resistance of standard Zinc plating
- Many of these features make Zinc-Nickel and environmentally friendly alternative for Cadmium plating
